This quote from the story of Peter Pan can be interpreted in many ways based on our thoughts about “growing up”. In the physical sense our bodies do grow up and in the process we do grow old, that we cannot stop. Growing up and/or maturing mentally, emotionally and gracefully can be based on many factors.
We miss things about being young. The changes that take place within us and around us can be overpowering if we get off course from the path we wish or dreamed of taking. Many situations and events can occur as we grow older that can leave us feeling lost, confused, misplaced and bewildered about the future.
Increasing our awareness and recognition of the aging process and all that it may involve, may be a struggle for some in accepting and managing this progression as a natural step in our life cycle.
